Welcome
to Allendale First School and thank you for taking time
to visit our website.
Allendale
First School is situated in the heart of the North Pennines
village of Allendale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The school site comprises a Victorian building of three
classrooms linked to the more recently built hall and
Early Years Unit. There is a playground to the front of
the building, to the rear is a large sports field, with
plans for the construction of a wildlife garden. We have
a superb outdoor area for the use of the whole school
but in particular for the Early Years children. We are
extremely grateful for the support given by parents and
the local community in the provision of this facility.
We
aim to provide quality education for your children through
effective organisation, well managed classrooms, a committed
knowledgeable staff having high expectations of achievement
and an understanding of children's individual needs.
Following
our last Ofsted inspection, in December 2006, we were delighted
to be identified as 'an outstanding school'in all areas
of inspection. "The school's outstanding care promotes
exceptional personal development. The pupils love learning,
behave very well and make the most of every minute in school."
The full report can be accessed on the Ofsted website
at: www.ofsted.gov.uk
Other successes for the school include The Quality Mark
for basic skills, The Active Mark, The Eco Schools Silver
Award, The Healthy Schools Award and Financial Management
status, all of which are national initiatives. Our most recent
success has been the achievement of the Arts Mark Gold Standard.
You are most welcome to come and visit the school and see
for yourself how we achieve our aims.
